5 Important Certifications that Set Our Deodorants Apart from the Rest

We’ve spoken about the importance of getting familiar with your deodorant labels so you can know exactly what you’re applying to your skin, but there are some other things you need to look out for too.

As discussed in our previous post, the FDA has not yet classified the term “natural” to stand for one specific thing, meaning that the definition of “natural” varies from product to product. This means you can’t fall for the “natural” label, reading those ingredients on the back of your product is key!

Also, even if you see a list of clean ingredients, how can you be sure they are Organic, vegan or cruelty-free, to name just a few of the most important things.

This is where our deodorants really stand apart from the rest!

We aren’t just certified Organic, we are also Cruelty-Free, Vegan, Non-GMO and ECOCERT verified.

In this article we’ll talk more about each one so you know exactly what this all means for you and your health!

USDA Organic

Several organizations have to oversee the ingredients in products and decide whether or not that product can be classified as Organic, unlike the natural label, that just requires one or two ingredients to be natural.

All ingredients were grown without the use of pesticides and all ingredients are 100% clean and meet the strict standards set out by the USDA Organic Certification.

Vegan and Cruelty-Free

If you’re an animal lover, then this certification along with our cruelty-free one is going to be important to you and both do differ in their meaning.

Vegan means our products contain no animal ingredients or by-products.

Cruelty Free means our products are never tested on animals.

Non-GMO

This means our products are produced without genetically engineered/modified ingredients.

ECOCERT

This was one of the first certification bodies to develop high standards for natural and organic products and today it is one of the best known labels of certification in the natural skincare field.

Products undergo meticulous testing and evaluation to determine whether or not it meets the standards set by this high-esteemed organization.

Requirements for certified products are as follows:

  • Products must be GMO free, paraben-free, as well as free from all other synthetics and preservatives that may be of harm to your health, including nanoparticles, PEG, synthetic dyes or fragrance, phenoxyethanol as well as animal products, unless naturally sourced, for example honey and milk. Our products are all vegan though, so you never have to worry about animal ingredients in our deodorant!
  • A minimum of 95% of the total ingredients must be sourced from natural origin.
  • The packaging must be recyclable, something else that is very important to us, because we truly care about the health of our planet and know you do too.
  • Ingredients (raw materials) must be sourced from eco-friendly sources and carefully processed.

We want you to feel comfortable and safe using our deodorants and these certifications help to dismiss any doubts!
